Sovereign Birth, Midwifery & Community-Supported Motherhood

Casa Tortuga is a deeply rooted Mayan-led initiative dedicated to sovereign birthing, traditional midwifery, and community-supported motherhood. The elders guiding this project have been walking closely with the Starseed Village community — hosting ceremony, offering ancestral teachings, and supporting the spiritual foundations of our movement.

In this presentation and workshop, the Casa Tortuga family will share:

• The principles of sovereign and natural birth
• Traditional midwifery wisdom passed down through generations
• How community-supported motherhood strengthens families and villages
• Their vision for a Natural Birthing Centre already far along in planning
• How Starseed Village will support building this centre first on their land

In the future, Starseed Village and the elders of Casa Tortuga intend to co-create a Mayan Cultural Innovation, Education & Healing Landmark Centre in Chicacao — a living temple of culture, birth, knowledge, and intergenerational regeneration.
